The website offers a selection of free phonics games for each stage, along with advice for parents on how to support their child with learning to read through phonics.

Doodle English is an adaptive app designed to support reading comprehension, spelling, grammar and punctuation for children in KS1 and KS2.
With the latest technology to personalise each activity, the app consolidates existing knowledge, fills gaps, and introduces new learning when appropriate.
The Doodle English app can be used on laptops, tablets or smartphones, making it easily accessible. The programme recommends at least 10 minutes on the app each day to experience progress.

Once Upon A Picture provides a vast range of images to inspire imagination and creativity. Each unique image comes with a title and an assortment of literacy-based activities, e.g. ‘Write a newspaper article about this incident.’
The website is completely free to use and also comes with questions for each image that children can respond to in the comments.
You can choose to view the images by collection (e.g. the non-fiction collection or the inference collection) if you are looking to target a particular skill.

BBC Bitesize is one of the most comprehensive free resources available to support your child’s education. For every key stage, they offer a carefully-selected range of revision guides, interactive games, quizzes, and activities.
For English, they have sections on reading and writing, speaking and listening, and grammar, punctuation and spelling.
You can filter the resources for each key stage even further by selecting your child’s year group at the top of the page. The large selection of supporting videos provide teacher-informed advice on a wide range of literacy skills.
